The film tells about the journey of the sailing ship „Christian Radich“ over 17.000 sea miles in 1957. The orchestral Film Music was composed by Morton Gould. Also participating are the voices of the crew of the ship, a folk trio „The Easy Riders“ and a Caribean steel band. As the crew visited Pablo Casals, he is also in the film with a „Catalan Melody“.

The soundtrack was published by Columbia, in Great Britain on Philips.
