Edit: There was actually an editing error in this episode. My 250k estimate comment was before I saw the numbers of what the custom sold for. The new audio didn't get spliced in. I truly believe this one will fall in the 500-600k range. If it goes more than that, it is all based on the hype this auction is receiving for it being called the "first" Les Paul.

📚 Description: Les Paul's personally modified Les Paul is coming to the auction block soon and it is being described as the First Les Paul ever - the one he approved before the builds started in 1952. While I have no doubts that this is an early Les Paul that he owned and modified, some of the details in the story as far as being the FIRST one ever just don't seem likely to me. However, with a guitar this modified, it is a bit hard to tell. I don't know the full story. I wasn't there - but do some research for yourself and draw your own conclusions!

It might be that the "telephone game" has mixed up the true message. Perhaps this is the first production guitar when they nailed down what they wanted to do (after the unbound fretboard runs.)
