A Crazy Day of Treasure Hunting!
Answers to commonly asked questions about the content of this video:
Q - What is an NIFC?
A - NIFC means "Not Intended for Circulation", and the Kennedy halves from the years 1970, 1987 and 2002-Present day are all NIFC. Examples in super nice condition command a premium (check ebay / sold listings for current example values)
Q - How do you know what half dollars are 40% or 90% silver?
A - All half dollars dated 1964 and older will be 90% silver. 1965-1970 are 40% silver. Proof coins can also be silver, they will have an S mint mark and have a white silver edge. Some other years, such as 1971 and 1977 can also be silver due to being minted on a leftover silver planchet from the previous year. Those coins are extremely rare and valuable.
