National Press Club Luncheons
Press Club: Kirk Douglas, actor and author
On June 30, 1994, actor Kirk Douglas spoke at a National Press Club luncheon. Mr. Douglas described the blurring of reality and make believe in today’s society. He blames all of us for letting the media place too much emphasis on the theatrics of news presentation. As he prepares to make his 82nd film, he chided that he is now qualified to be a news reporter. Mr. Douglas believes that there is something murky in the past of every great man, but that should not be the most important thing about an individual.
The National Press Club Luncheons are brought to you by the Internet Multicasting Service and our sponsors under an agreement with the National Press Club Board of Governors.
