After a historic feat at the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Women’s Football Championship, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. conveyed his warmest congratulations to the members and officials of the Philippine Women’s National Football Team in a courtesy call at the President’s Hall in Malacañan Palace.

During his remarks, President Marcos Jr. expressed his gratitude to the football team for becoming a national pride and bringing a crowning achievement to the country’s sports industry. He lauded the team’s efforts and years of sacrifices poured into the athletes’ rigorous training program that paved the way for their championship aspirations.

The Football Team, dubbed as the Filipinas, secured the country’s first ever AFF Women’s Football Championship title in a 3-0 match against Thailand on July 17 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
