Once upon a time Strasbourg Capital of Christmas ... a story that has reinvented itself since 1570, and that makes the heart of an entire city beat. Its famous Christmas market, the "Christkindelsmärik", a name given in the Alsatian dialect to the traditional "baby Jesus market", is one of the oldest in Europe.
This 2021 edition, entitled “Allumons les étoiles”, takes on a very special dimension. It celebrates the joy and warmth of meeting at the foot of the Big Christmas tree and interacting again with the more than 300 exhibitors gathered in the many squares of the Big Island. This event lays the foundation stone for a spatially more spacious Strasbourg Capital of Christmas, where Christmas values are gradually regaining their full meaning.
In the light of the stars that illuminate the city, those that can be read in the eyes of young and old and who warm hearts, many activities are offered from November 26. They take us back to our childhood memories, those where tales and legends open the imagination.
"Let's light up the stars" is a real invitation to dream, to marvel, to live a unique experience. Together, let's take advantage of this time when we look to each other to prepare for Christmas.
