Roald Amundsens plass, Tromsø / Romsa, North Norway / Sápmi - Park on wet afternoon

Saturday afternoon and there has been rain on and off since dawn. This small park is surrounded by busy roads that are just beyond short ornamental hedges. The park is near the larger hotels and the commercial harbour. It is site of Soundwalk 11, which evolved as a 'sound sitting' or 'sound standing' since the conductor and participants remained within the bounds of the very modestly proportioned park. Neither a photogenic nor an audiogenic site, the recording - captured on a small Dictaphone - gives a sense of an easily-ignored urban space, and yet the discussions during the sound walk were among the most exciting yet. On Saturday the construction work has ceased.
