The Beatles Box Set Series comes to a close with this, the last album recorded by the band. In order to end the series properly, this show runs just over seven hours in total. Seven years after their first recording sessions at Abbey Road Studios [then EMI Studios], the Beatles returned for what proved to be their final recordings together. In June 1962, they were wide-eyed young men ready to make their mark on the music business. By July 1969, they'd become world-weary sophisticates dealing with power and money struggles. Abbey Road features two of George's best songs, "Here Comes The Sun" and "Something", a fantastic track from John, "Come Together", and a wonderful medley of half-finished songs woven together by Paul. And of course, Ringo's second song, "Octopus's Garden". In Britain, Abbey Road was released in September 1969 and stayed at No. 1 for 18 weeks. In the States, it was released in October and was at No. 1 for 11 weeks.
