Clemens Brentano visited Sister Anne Catherine Emmerich in her Augustinian convent at Agnetenberg, Dulmen, Germany, many times from 1819 until her death in 1824. The Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ is the result of those many interviews. Based on Sister Emmerich's visions about the life of Christ, this book details the visions that she had concerning the Last Supper and of our Lord's Passion, Death and Resurrection.
