This video is about How to Rig Slow Pitch Assist Hooks - Benny Ortiz Style. I have learned since the video that Benny actually secures his solid ring with a Palomar knot (rather than the traditional Triple Cat's Paw shown here). Both methods work great - just make sure you use a longer piece of cord if you want to use the Palomar method.
While this is not the traditional method for tying slow pitch assist hooks, this method WORKS and this hook is much more durable than any traditional pike or spade eye hook I have personally used. It is also MUCH FASTER than the traditional method. But if you prefer the traditional style, please see the video I put together on my YouTube channel that teaches you how to follow that method:
