Hits Hub (Mock Muzak [6]7890) [8-Hour CDi Experiment]
Here's yet another "what if?" Muzak MCD-1000/CD-i experiment, this time focusing on a mock version of Muzak's [6]7890 program called Hits Hub.
This program is designed to be a replication of the era where Muzak's 7890 program (then in the Mood Media era) was briefly known as 67890. There, Mood decided to add in a selection of upbeat pop and rock from the '60s to complement the normal rotation of music from the '70s to the present. 7890 dropped the '70s music a few years back—around November 2018, when Mood also dropped '70s hits on FM-1—and was rebranded as Decades.
Blurb: "Hits Hub plays popular hits from the 1960s to today. More upbeat than its mid-tempo companion, ClearFM, Hits Hub's focus is mixing more lively music alongside classic favorites. As such, Hits Hub may be used in environments where a more foreground-oriented alternative to ClearFM is desired but a similar wide appeal is needed—for example, in a bar-and-grill themed restaurant. With a wide selection of music that provides a broad appeal to listeners of many generations, Hits Hub will have you singing along in no time!"
What you will hear in this compilation is exactly as you'd expect the program to sound if it were played off a CDi device like the MCD-1000, manufactured for Muzak by Plextor. Each block contains an hour of music encoded in monophonic for a grand total of approximately eight hours of music. Enjoy!
