Bambi Redux - Outcomes

Her most sophisticated record to date, OUTCOMES, was the third full-length album by Bambi Redux to be available online. It was written and recorded over six months between July and December 2021.

Beneath a lighter, more concise and playful surface, this record aims to both synthesise, and to surpass, its predecessors. Bambi applies a cool logic, and a strong melodic sensibility, to math-rock, IDM, breakcore, jazz, Latin, pop, and ambient music, before subjecting it to months of the most breathtakingly baroque production work and micro-editing. The end result can only be understood as a remarkable labour of love. In an unpublished 2022 interview with composer Barry Ireland, Bambi said of OUTCOMES:

"For me, this is a very personal record... In a sense, making Outcomes totally transformed my approach. Because I suddenly saw that what is obvious in music at the perceptual or structural level must be in some sense universally applicable - Namely, that music ALWAYS deals with the very wide-reaching question; What IS the relationship between what has gone, and what is yet to come? Can any meaning be said to exist, for any music, that is not just some expression of this broader question?"
