The European Parliament has been rocked by scandal after one of its vice presidents Eva Kaili was among several people detained in an alleged corruption and money laundering probe. Four suspects have been charged and remanded in custody following raids at several locations in Brussels on December 9, as per Belgian prosecutors. An unnamed Gulf country, suspected to be Qatar, is accused of trying “to influence the economic and political decisions of the European Parliament” by paying bribes to "third parties with a significant political and/or strategic position". #qatar2022 #fifaworldcup #evakaili #n18oc_world #n18oc_crux
