Notes
Marek Weber (1888 Lviv - 1964 Chicago) was a popular violinist and dance band leader and one of Germany's most popular recording artists in the 1910s and 1920s. Despite Weber's conservative musical tastes, the Nazis termed his music "Degenerate Art." Weber, who was Jewish, escaped persecution and death by emigrating via London to the United States in late 1932. In America, he starred on NBC radio's Carnation Condensed Milk program and as guest on other shows and was nicknamed the "Radio Waltz King."
The recording on the other side of this disc: Unter den Linden.
Technical Notes: Some light crackling throughout.
