About
Conversation between Roswitha Schmalenbach and Karl Barth as part of the series "Music for a Guest"
Music for a guest is a program on Swiss radio, SRF 2 Kultur. For decades she has presented "celebrities and less well-known people in conversation about themselves, their job, their life - and about their favorite music". In this respect, it follows its British model, the program Desert Island Discs, which has been broadcast on the BBC since the 1950s.
Was moderated resp. the music for a guest will include Hansjörg Schulz, Eva Oertle, Michael Luisier and Röbi Koller. The program is first broadcast every Sunday from 12.40 p.m. and repeated on the following Saturday at 11.03 a.m. It can also be listened to on the Schweizer Radio website. There is also a podcast.
The program with Karl Barth, which was broadcast on November 10, 1968, was published on a record and as a transcript. In 1971, the long-time presenter of the show, Roswitha Schmalenbach, published a book of the same name, the first “review of a radio series with prominent contemporaries”.
