This is an original New Super Mario Bros. DS-inspired overworld theme for the canyon/mountain levels in that game.

Half the worlds in New Super Mario Bros. DS happen to have unique overworld themes, so I figured it'd be neat to explore the concept of creating unique overworld themes for the remaining worlds that lacked them. These themes typically take some vague amount of inspiration from similar themes that may exist in other games, mainly focusing on the New Super Mario Bros. series.

Some noteworthy inspirations, particularly in terms of the melodies:

- Seeing as the New Super Mario Bros. series has, to my knowledge, never had an original mountain/canyon overworld theme, I mainly based it on the world map theme, as well as drawing general inspiration from the concept behind the levels themselves.

- Being the first of the tracks I've made, I wasn't particularly daring enough yet to compose completely original melodies for this one, so I instead opted to rearrange the melodies found in the game's main theme.
