Another item in the Red Robin AEI/DMX collection. This is a generic library (i.e. not containing advertising) and was heard in Red Robin restaurants, and many others, around the USA in 2003. This is the first one in DMX's "ProDisc" series. They had discontinued AEI's "Soundscapes" series at the end of 2003, and all discs from here on carry the then-new series branding.

At this point I should point out that remnants of AEI's influence can actually still be found in late DMX-era Mood Media installations today (late 2010s). Particularly, the "Pro-" branding for their on-site playout systems, the most prominent of which today is the Profusion computer product line. Under AEI, this nomenclature originated in the Prodisc CD-I systems (e.g. the AEI and DMX Prodisc DS, made by Plextor), ProPac cassette tape products and the ProSat satellite receiver.

DOWNLOADING

The downsampled 32000 Hz 320 Kb MP3 blocks were manually encoded and uploaded by me, from files derived from the disc's 37800 Hz ADPCM audio. These files were encoded using the "--resample 32000 -q0" option in LAME 3.99.5 (Linux). This is because 37800 Hz is not specified in the MP3 standard, and LAME's default behaviour is to downsample to the nearest valid sample rate. Therefore, the MP3 version is mainly intended for previewing in Archive's built-in Web player. While of acceptable quality, I don't recommend them for optimal listening. Audio master binaries are in 37800 Hz 2-channel ADPCM format, and can be easily converted to 16-bit linear PCM using ISO Buster and PSMPLAY.
