Burton's 'Miss Peregrine' is flawed but fun - Kostenloses Hörbuch

Director Tim Burton brings to life as only he can the Ransom Riggs novel "Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children." A school suspended in time is home to a group of children who are all a bit different in the film, Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children...Faced with a tragedy at home...young Jake and his father take a therapeutic trip to an island in Wales talked about by his grandfather...where he learns the truth about himself...Tim Burton takes on the Ransom Riggs novel...but it's not your average Burton-fare......it's weirdly normal but totally Tim Burton...beautiful with so much to look at and take in visually...The kids are peculiar, one invisible another filled with bees, one that controls fire and masked twins that by themselves could be center of a horror flick...Unfortunately it loses its way and gets a bit sleepy in the middle as Mr. Barron, the leader of the Wights, played effectively by Samuel L. Jackson......tries to hunt down the peculiars with his super-creepy Hollows...and they are scary...keep that in mind when it comes to the youngsters.Asa Butterfield does a fine job as Jake as does Ella Purnell as Emma Bloom...and the pair are believable as a few sparks fly between them.And Eva Green as Miss Peregrine the school's protective head mistress who's as powerful as she is caring...As with some Burton films he has so much he wants to show it becomes too much...and we've seen it all...but that still doesn't mean you can stop looking...And because of that, I give Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children three and a half stars out of five on the Rob Rating Scale...So, despite its flaws...it begs for viewing on the Big Screen with big sound...
