The S6 service, a commuter train, starts in Uetikon, roughly around the middle of the right shore of Lake Zurich. It serves a few suburbs before it reaches the city of Zurich. After Herrliberg-Feldmeilen, it shares the exact same route with the S16 service. This allows for 15min train intervals between Herrliberg-Feldmeilen and Zurich with the S6 and S16 and the same 15min train intervals from Meilen and Uetikon to Zurich, where the S6 and S7 share stations. After Zurich Oerlikon, the train leaves on a route which is (excluding the rush hour) exclusive for the S6. It follows the Furttal region up until Wettingen, where it is joined by the S12, another line in the S-Bahn system of Zurich. Just one more stop to go and we reach our terminus Baden.
This S6 runs in the S-Bahn Zurich system and is not to be confused with the S6 of the S-Bahn St. Gallen system, which has been featured here already.
