Suspiria de Profundis

Join famed author Thomas de Quincey on a journey into the darkness as he ponders on the significance of death as he re-experiences childhood tragedies through the haze of opium, as he dwells on the permanence of things through discussion of palimpsests, as he explores the macabre folklore of the Three Mothers (made famous by being a direct inspiration on director Dario Argento for his Three Mothers trilogy). This collection of essays offers de Quincey at his most poetic and affecting. - Summary by Ben Tucker
