THE PEARL OF GREAT PRICE

Matthew 13:45-46

"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it."

I would just like to speak tonight on how God is raising up hungry lovers - ones fully committed to abandoning worldly ways and carnal desires to pursue the Pearl of Great Price.

When I reference this pearl, I speak of the greatest treasure imaginable - the beautiful face of Jesus Christ. Our Heavenly Bridegroom deeply anticipates an adoring Bride bearing flames of fire within - burning passion arising not from empty religion or apathetic faith but from wholehearted desire for Him alone. This willingness to respond when He calls demonstrates true devotion.

Some wonder, "Why doesn't the Lord come to me? Why can't I connect with His presence?" I urge you to cultivate deep relationship with the Lord by simply sitting with Him, opening your heart and loving Him. Visualize two chairs and imagine Jesus Himself sitting closely beside you. Time remarkably fades away as you bask in His company - adoring Him, desiring Him. Though thoughts may wander at first, gently steer them back to gaze on the beauty of the Savior's face again and again.

In this practice of beholding God we train our minds, ever racing, to focus fully on Christ and cease their restless jumping to and fro. Our constant thinking stills into tranquil pools reflecting His image. We quiet ourselves to be fully present with Him. This "soaking in His presence" must permeate devotional life, not mere rushed reading and petitioning alone. Many believers lament lack of intimacy, yet limit time with God to quickly voicing needs without the friendship component that transforms prayer into loving dialogue.

Like Enoch, Abraham and David of old, you can walk the depths of relationship with your Lord - even now! For the privilege of leaning upon Jesus' chest stands ready for any willing to nurture an unbreakable bond of love divine through time and transparency with the Three-in-One. Rise today into deeper waters with your Best Friend that you may soon say from overflowing joy - I have found the Pearl of Greatest Price! Our Beloved eagerly awaits our awakening to this gift of companionship eternal.
