It's February and we're doing Romcoms! We start with It Happened One Night (1934), starring Clarke Gable and Claudette Colbert, as a newspaper man and rich heiress. She's running away from her father to get to her husband in New York and he wants the story, so he's gonna help her do it. Romance ensues! We then watched Ninotchka (1939), which is a little more zany and off-the-beaten-path. It stars Greta Garbo as Ninotchka, a Russian diplomat who attempts to sell some jewels in France, except there's a question of their ownership. Melvyn Douglas is the opposing French lawyer who falls hard for the practical minded Ninotchka. Again, romance ensues! We end with the weekly round-up and what we're watching next.
