These professional themes are central to Dr. Klein’s first book, but Dissident Doctor is also a personal memoir of a man who was born to left-wing parents in the McCarthy era, moved to Canada during the Vietnam War, and cared for his wife, filmmaker Bonnie Klein, after she suffered a series of major strokes in 1987. We spoke with Dr. Klein in November.
