Based in Salem, IL, WJBD has been a full service Adult Contemporary, news, and sports station for decades, serving Salem, Centralia, and throughout south central Illinois. While many small local stations opted for automation or programming by satellite, WJBD maintained a 24 hour live and local programming schedule into the late 1990s.
WJBD AM (1350 kHz) and FM (100.1 MHz) were a simulcast until the end of 1995. The FM retained its full service Adult Contemporary format, and the AM adopted a satellite based classic country format at the beginning of 1996. WJBD AM has adopted the calls WSIQ and added an FM translator on 92.1 MHz.
The airchecks featured here were recorded between 1992 and 1996.
