Why get big towers if you have subwoofers? Isn't it a waste? Here are my thoughts and experience on it... Vv Click "SHOW MORE" vV

I had several videos in line that I wanted to shoot before this one, but this topic just came up and smacked me across the face.
To be clear, I didn't expect these to sound bad or anything, I just didn't expect them to sound THIS good. I would have put in the request MUCH sooner, had I known!
I went from my Definitive Technology SM450 to older Paradigm Signature 80 V2 (not the highest reviewed Paradigm tower) and remember not noticing a dramatic improvement.
The Ultra Towers are still in their break-in period, and they're starting to get their "forever sound". Just like every SVS loudspeaker, they sound a little "uptight" when you first get them, but after 1-4 weeks they relax and really sing.
Generally, I would reserve these for the higher end subwoofers, like the 12 Plus, 4000 series, and 16 Ultra series. That said, the PB-2000's would fill in the bottom end beautifully. Even the PB-1000's would do the trick, but the PB-2000's would be more "appropriate".
To be certain, I would still run dual subwoofers. If there was an SVS speaker I would run without subs, this would be it, but for the same money, dual PB-2000's (https://sub101.link/PB-2000) and 2 Prime Bookshelf (http://sub101.link/PrimeBook) would be my choice, and I would do my best to use the 1 year trade up.
Bass is my priority to get "full range" sound. Without good bass, I feel that the sound is just anemic, no matter how awesome your loudspeakers are.
Here's a breakdown of how I would budget for subwoofers at various price points:
$500-1,000 budget? Dual PB-1000's. The PB-2000 goes deeper, has more power, etc..., but a single won't have the realism that dual PB-1000's provide. This was a major realization on this channel, and I think it's REALLY important to go dual. https://sub101.link/PB-1000
$1,500-2,000 budget? Dual PB-2000's. The PB-4000 is INSANELY good, but duals will give you a more complete and full sound. I preferred dual PB-2000's over a SINGLE PB-16 Ultra!
Duals vs duals, it's no contest, the PB-4000's or 16 Ultra will dominate the PB-2000's, but 2 vs 1 within the ported SVS line, duals win. https://sub101.link/PB-2000
$2,000-3,000 budget? Dual PB-12 Plus. https://sub101.link/PB-12Plus
$4,000 budget? Dual PB-4000's, outstanding output and realism, second only to PB-16 Ultras. https://sub101.link/PB-4000
$5,000 budget? Dual PB-16 Ultras, easily the best bass I've heard to date! https://sub101.link/PB-16Ultra
Taking advantage of the 1-year trade up to upgrade is something you can do if you go factory direct. I'd rather have duals now than 6-12 months with a single.

LG 4K 3D that I replaced previous Vizio with a Square Trade type warranty. Love the LG, some issues aside. Going through Amazon means you can get a decently priced 5 year warranty (strongly recommend for TV's and AVR's)
