Giới thiệu

And Then It Began is the first studio effort compiled by the band for public release. It is just a taste of what Mulet Roe has become. Here is a little bit about how they got there Three years ago Matt Meekins moved home to the Outer Banks of NC after a playing as a scholarship pitcher for ECU's baseball team. His good friend Pug Clark offered him a job with his mullet fishing operation. After work they would trade their fishing nets for guitar strings and play their favorite music with Pug's brother-in-law, Todd Stanberry. Jamming with a couple of friends after a long day on the water quickly evolved into intense writing sessions. When the current line-up finally came together Mulet Roe was ready to evolve into a serious rock and roll group. However, they still remain five close friends writing and performing their own original music. Over the past three years, Mulet Roe has compiled an extensive list of original songs. The band collaborates with one another in their writing efforts to perfect their sound. However, Jim Sheets now writes most of the lyrics and Matt creates the majority of the music. These two are the youthful and creative spirit of Mulet Roe. Drummer Chris Smith, Pug and Todd had been playing together long before the inception of Mulet Roe. Their experience with other bands and longtime bond comprise the solid foundation upon which the Mulet Roe sound thrives. That sound has packed a number of venues in the Outer Banks region. Venues such the Carolinian and the Port o' Call normally feature national recording artists, but have made Mulet Roe a part of their regular rotation of quality entertainment. Continually playing high-energy live performances and generating an ever-expanding circle of devoted fans has started opened new doors of late. Being located in a resort area has had its advantages for Mulet Roe. The Outer Banks is a favorite vacation destination for people through out North America. Every show Mulet Roe performs is for a predominately new audience from diverse locations and backgrounds. Vacationers from nearly every state east of the Mississippi and college students from all the major NC and VA schools have already joined Mulet Roe's mailing list This has provided Mulet Roe with priceless exposure and experience with a wide range of audience members. In order to reach a much larger audience, Mulet Roe has begun to establish themselves in other locations. They have recently performed in both Wilmington and Raleigh NC. The Wilmington show was an opening gig for a national recording artist at Bessie's. Mulet Roe's advertising and fans helped fill the room to capacity. The first Raleigh performance was a two-hour solo set at Lakeside Lounge. Lakeside made an exception to its strict alternative country format after receiving a copy of the original rough demo. Word got out about them and the next two visits to Raleigh were head lining events staged at the 16 year old Raleigh rock icon, the Brewery. Mulet Roe's effort to produce quality, spirited music has not gone unnoticed. WVOD 99.1, WOBR 95.3, and WKNC 88.1 have provided repeated air play in recent months. In addition, Plugged In, a Virginia based version of MTV, has broadcast Mulet Roe first two televised shows. On another note, the next Oasis Rock/Alternative Sampler will feature a song by Mulet Roe.
