Giới thiệu
The latest generation of videogames are in many cases, as Mark Prensky has stated, complex games rather than mini-games of the Pac Man and Pong era. Feral Interactive is a UK-based company that ports many games to the Macintosh platform (including Lego Star Wars II) as well as develops its own original games. This podcast features an interview with David Stephen of Feral Interactive, as well as programmer Edwin Smith. They discuss some of the more popular and engaging Feral games for the Macintosh including Worms 3D, Imperial Glory, and The Movies. Noteably, the game The Movies includes options for players to create their own feature films which can be exported in DVD quality. What a great tool for creative digital storytellers! The program has been used to create films shown at actual film festivals in the past. Film creators can also upload their creations to a website where they can be downloaded and critiqued in a peer review process by others around the globe. What a great tool for animated feature digital storytelling! (And yes, it is available on both the Windows and Macintosh platforms.) Look out Pixar, Disney, and Dreamworks! A new generation of animated filmakers is rising!
