Second Sunday in Advent December 9, 2012 Luke 1:28-45, 56 As with Zechariah last week, Mary-- and, by extension, Elizabeth-- received an invitation in preparation for the birth of the Christ Child that is still extended to us today, and invitation to which God invites us to respond: an invitation to stay. To not shut out, but invite in; to be truly present to one another; to be the reminder of God's presence that the person beside us needs, and to allow them close enough to be that reminder as well; to abide with one another in God's miraculous presence, helping each other see our place in God's story.
