Reliable, well-performing supply chains are essential for ensuring access to medicines and other health supplies, and thus for achieving positive health outcomes. The health supply chain workforce plays a vital role in the realization of global and country health goals, however, health supply chains in many countries struggle to respond to existing demands, putting both health supplies and health outcomes at risk. Limitations on supply chain performance stem, in part, from the lack of a qualified supply chain workforce. This satellite event provides information about the current state of human resources and supply chain management, and highlights the efforts of the People that Deliver global partnership, an initiative to promote workforce excellence in supply chain management. This is the first part of the event recording.
