This is the second in our series of reports from a fact-finding mission about violence and intimidation against Filipino workers. A delegation of Canadian public service employees visited the Philippines in July of last year, as part of mission to learn about the struggles of labour organizers there.

CKUT's David Koch was there and he bring us these interviews with two jailed Filipino union organizers, Raul Compasona and Randy Vegas. They are organizers with COURAGE, a major Filipino union federation.

In these interviews, recorded inside a Filipino jail, the two men -- known as the COURAGE 2 -- say they were abducted, blindfolded, and interrogated, while being denied contact with their lawyers. They have been in jail since December 2012 on charges related to a deadly ambush against Filipino soldiers. COURAGE is calling those charges fabrications. And here in Canada, groups including the Canadian Union of Public Employees are calling for their immediate release.
