My late brother recorded Honky Tonk on reel-to-reel tapes in mono 1974-76, and on cassettes in stereo 1976-78.

Mainly an American roots music show, playing rock'n'roll, rhythm and blues, country and cajun music. Honky Tonk also publicised gigs, was an info board for the pub-rock scene, and played early records and demo tapes by the likes of Elvis Costello, Graham Parker, Dire Straits, Chas & Dave and Darts. Regular guests included Dave Robinson, later of Stiff Records, then running the Hope and Anchor music pub, as well as visiting Americans such as Earl Palmer and Carl Perkins.
