Video: Winners of Bird Photographer of the Year Awards 2021

The Bird Photographer of the Year competition, showcasing the beauty and idiosyncrasies of our feathered friends, has been running since 2016. There are eight different categories - Best Portrait, Birds in the Environment, Attention to Detail, Bird Behavior, Birds in Flight, Black and White, Urban Birds, and Creative Imagery. There is also a Portfolio Award and a Conservation Award.

Out of 22,000 international entries, Mexican photographer Alejandro Prieto is this year’s grand champion, claiming the prize for his arresting photograph of a greater roadrunner staring up at the barbed-wire-clad border wall between the USA and Mexico.
