Second steps to stardom? World Champion dressage rider Charlotte Dujardin on "young potential" mare Florentina in Shearwater class at Addington Manor on 10th May 2015.
This is an unusual competiton for dressage in that two horses are in the ring at the same time although not directly in competition with each other. Judges score all the horses on merit and the top six are called back in for a parade to be judged much as a show class might be.
It is informal in style and less rigid in format than other dressage tests - very much a class for young horses on the rise. Florentina (m. Vivaldi x Rubels, 2010) was bought for £33,000 by Dujardin at Brightwells in 2012 and is considered a great future prospect.
Charlotte went on to win this event which was held as part of a three day "Premier League" meeting at Addington Manor, Buckinghamshire, England.
Florentina and Charlotte now qualify for the UK National Finals at Stoneleigh in September.
