She meets Mrs. Fairfax who decides to give her the job as a governess at Thornfield Hall. She eventually falls in love with Mr. Rochester, the master of Thornfield. She is happy being a governess to Adele and being in love with Mr. Rochester. Mr. Rochester then decides to propose to her: However, Mr. Rochester has a deep dark secret; one that stops the marriage and restricts them from being together forever. She runs away and lives a new life with a new family, St. John and his two sisters. St. John finds out that Jane Eyre is a beneficiary of her uncle’s wealth and insists that she marry him.
