Continuing with our February Black History Month theme, this Weekly Poem is from The Book of American Negro Poetry (1922) by James Weldon Johnson (1871 to 1938). James David Corrothers was an African-American poet, journalist, and minister whom editor T. Thomas Fortune called "the coming poet of the race." When he died, W. E. B.
