At the beginning of the 21st Century, people are primed to think of an inevitable conflict between scientific knowing and religious knowing. Yet Whitehead pointed out that science is founded on Judeo-Christianity; and we live in, not against, a scientific worldview. However, science gives us data and the "how," while our job as church is helping the world understand the moral and spiritual dimensions of this world. Easter, and the incarnation celebrated in the baptism performed on this Sunday, gives us a way to be in the world – Christ is an "evaluation" of our life, of our world, and provides a way to understand life with meaning, purpose, and hope.
