On today's program, James Macklin, Director of Outreach, talks about the changing face of the homeless in New York City; about the programs currently available to help the needy regain dignity and get back on their feet and he shares his own inspiring story about how his dabblings in the world of illegal drugs decades ago, left him poverty stricken and with no place to turn except the Bowery Mission. In the second part of the program, James Winans, Director of Development speaks at length about the Kids With A Promise program and how it serves to give city children a chance to enjoy Summer camp and understand that they can aspire to have a better quality of life and education, in spite of growing up in poor circumstances.
