This is my latest compo done in Linux on Ardour with drums courtesy of Hydrogen. I've used my bass, Yamaha electric piano and Emu Proteus synth modules, though, instead of soft-synths. As is typical with me, it is an odd meter. This song is loosely based on some concepts I thought about after reading Umberto Eco's novel of the same name. The ideas have to do with coming to grips with how many things people believe that are either not true, or are outright dangerous. This idea also carries with it the concepts of managing assumptions and really scrutinizing ones set of beliefs, not to destroy them, but to preserve the Truth that I hope all of us want to embrace. The lingering part at the end indicates for me how these types of erroneous beliefs tend to linger waiting in the wings of obscurity to be renewed for...?
