A beautiful LP featuring traditional music from Tanzania. The LP is titled Mateso (= suffering), and features the following musicians:

Hukwe Ubi Zawose (c. 1938 or 1940 - December 30, 2003): vocals, zeze, ilimba

Lubeleje M. Chiute: vocals, zeze, ilimba

Dickson L. Mkwama: vocals, bells, ilimba

The zeze is a lute harp that resembles the West African kora, but has a very different sound. There are also forms played as string instruments.

The ilimba is a thumb piano like the mbira, but larger.

I also love the way the sang (in harmony).
