The Hyphenate does a detailed step by step tutorial on how to create 4K video proxies in Vegas Pro in order to edit 4K videos faster and have your workflow be a lot more smooth. In the new Vegas Pro 17 (build 387) update, the "automatically create video proxies for Ultra HD media" option was completely removed and changed to now being "automatically create video proxies for great than 4K resolution media. Now Vegas Pro will not automatically create video proxies for 4K video files, so it must now be done manually. The Hyphenate explains how to do it. Once you have video proxies created, if you set your video preview screen to Draft or Preview quality, Vegas Pro will work faster and smoother using the smaller/lower quality video proxies. If you want to watch it in the full quality or render in 4K full quality, change the vieo preview screen to Good or Best .
