About

The Tragedy of Fotheringay is a retelling of Mary Queen of Scots’ final months. Using the journal of her physician Bourgoing, the novel follows Mary as she’s moved to Fotheringay Castle and pulled deeper into the political games surrounding Queen Elizabeth I. Mary is seen as anxious yet determined, while she’s cut off from her closest attendants and pushed toward a trial she knows is stacked against her. The story focuses on the pressure, betrayal, and maneuvering that shape her captivity, as events close in on her and lead to her execution. - Summary by mpinedag
