About

Working in the summer of 1945 in Mexico on the script for the film "Pearl", Steinbeck conceived to write a new novel, something like the Mexican "Don Quixote".  This novel was written hard and long and was published in February 1947 only due to the urgent requirements of publishers.  The new novel was called the "lost bus" and reflected his author's reflection on the further ways of development of the United States of America.
