sound art piece based on marguerite duras' short text "le train de bordeaux". this is the first installment of a series of projects dealing with the translation of other realities into sound. in this case, text. the work is a reflection on the resonance of spoken language prior to the production of meaning. the short story was interpreted in its dynamics and musicality and, based on it, a score was produced to conduct the development of the piece over time. then the text was given to several people of different languages who read it aloud and recorded the readings into sound. by this way, a single text was translated into sound (verbal and non-verbal) using a complex, multi-layered approach where text, voice, idiom, body, subjectivity, linguistics all intermingle within the piece. This work was premiered at Centro Em Movimento, Lisbon. Date: 10.June.2004
