About
A group of young kids on a day trip accompanied by teachers are playing games in the forest. A wood ant colony, very common here, builds its nest amongst a fallen tree trunk. A chaffinch sings.
The two layers are recorded simultaneously, the children with normal microphones, the ants with contact mics resting on the mound they are creating. The layers crossfade from the external to the internal as the track plays.
