This is the first of the P.G. Wodehouse Jeeves and Wooster stories. I've read it in what I'll call Brit Lite. Meaning that while there is an English flavor to the speech, I've not attempted to maintain English accents. There is a fine line between being entertaining and tedious and I've tried to stay on the entertaining side. Bertie's friend Corky fancies himself a portrait painter but until a commission materializes he is totally dependent on his rich uncle for support. Now Corky wants to marry and there is the delicate matter of how to introduce the girl to his uncle without getting cut off. Bertie turns to Jeeves to come up with a plan. He comes up with a good one and it works but not quite in the way expected.
