About

3D printers can create a lot of things like guns, clothes and kid's toys. Now, it's being used to print prescription drugs. SPRITRAM is used to prevent seizures in people with epilepsy, and its the first 3D-made drug to be approved by the Food and Drug Administration. Aprecia Pharmaceuticals makes it by shooting multiple layers of the drug with a printer which binds them together into a pill that quickly dissolves in the mouth with a sip of water. Children and seniors say it's a lot easier to take than current epilepsy drugs that're hard to swallow. It should hit the market early next year.
