About
Listen to the story on Rivet Teenage pot use doesn't increase based on whether a state's legalized medical marijuana. That's from a study in the medical journal Lancet Psychiatry. It tracked more than 1 million teenagers over 24 years. The study found that teenage pot use didn't increase when medical marijuana was legalized in their states. It found that teenage use was at 8 percent prior to legalization, and now it's at 6 percent. 23 states've legalized medical marijuana and several more're still favoring legalization. The research says many of the teenagers see pot as harmless, and one marijuana industry expert says pot no longer factors into the image of being a rebellious teenager.
