北海道の岩内に住む漁師、木本は、画家になることを望み、札幌に住む語り手を尋ねて、自分の画を見せた。そして１０年後、再び吹雪の中を語り手を尋ねる。木本は、実在の画家、木田金次郎をモデルとしています。漁船の遭難シーンは、すごい迫力です。 A fisherman, who lives in Iwanai, Hokkaido, wishes to be a painter. He sends his works to a writer who then writes about his life.
