The flood brings in not only the muddy waters but a series of suspicious clues that convinced Mrs. Pitman, a boarding house keeper, that a murder has been committed at her boarding house. Jennifer Ladley aka Jennie Brice is missing and with the help of Mr. Holcombe, a quirky gentleman with a passion for mysteries, they embark on a quest for the truth behind the disappearance of Jennie Brice.

- The Case of Jennie Brice mystery

A great story with some fun twists from the flooding. Also gives fascinating glimpses into how Chicagoans managed decades ago, before flood management and air conditioning. (Keep the piano on the upper floor!) so it was fun in a historical way as well as the main story itself. The volunteer reader was good - note: I tend to approach these free readings as if a friend were reading to me; it’s all good, better, or great.

- Case of jennie brice

Good story with a good reader. I enjoyed it very much. Like her voice

- The Case of Jennie Brice

Boring storyline, sleepy narration. Hard to stay interested in.

- The Case of Jennie Brice

Interesting story and well narrated by only one reader, which is a relief. Only a few words were too oddly pronounced to understand. Enjoyable and easy to listen to.

- The Case of Jennie Brice

A good story with some interesting twists and turns, thought I had figured it out early on and then...... Nicely narrated by Wina Hathaway, you get used to her accent and translate some oddly pronounced words easily enough.
